Workshop Week A Resounding Success

PALS workshops are always a hugely anticipated time.

Veterans come together to take part in activities based on developing and improving skills with their dogs.

Hosted again at Seale Hayne over a full week, we had the opportunity to see many of our Veterans and to provide the specialist training that is central to the PALS Programme for Assistance Dogs.

Veterans from all over the UK made the journey down to our special place in Devon where they can relax and enjoy the environment we are based in. Instantly the dogs knew exactly where they were and were clearly excited to be back with us for some fun and training.

Having a workshop week means that we can tailor our activities to those Veterans that are with us. But equally we are still able to cover the important parts of the training programme that is required for the progress and qualifications that our Veterans are working towards. But having fun and enjoying the activities are a key element of what a workshop is all about - and judging by the smiles and laughter it was obvious that this was achieved.

The standards that our Veterans displayed with their dogs was truly amazing. It was clear to see just how much hard work and personal effort that everyone has been investing in their partnerships since their last visit, and the momentum continued throughout the workshop all week.
